Studio Policy

  • You are able to use the studio during allocated times however please bare in mind that weekends are usually busy so please be considerate of other fellow potters as workspace may be limited. If there is a private group workshop going on you may use the common area for hand building.

  • Membership does not include any instructions.

  • Cleaning procedures: Membership does not include cleaning services. All belongings and pots are to be stored on your shelf only. Please clean up and leave the workspace how you would like it to be found.

  • Please clean tools and place on drying rack properly. Please be mindful of how you use and place the tools (specifically the paint brushes) as they are easily damaged.

  • Please do not touch other peoples work.

  • Clay must be bought in 5 kgs at a time.

  • We wont fire a piece that we feel won’t make it through the firing process or have high risk of exploding in the kiln. If any pieces are fired and has cracked or have any imperfections, we consider this a learning process and won’t be responsible for it. However if we are the ones to break your pieces we will be sure to compensate for it.

  • Kiln operation is for studio staff only. Please do not try and operate the kiln.

  • Payment for kiln and clay is to be paid forward before use. Before firing you must be able to fill up at least 1 shelf as you will be paying for the whole shelf each time. We suggest planning ahead of how your pieces will fit on the shelves would be helpful :)

  • Firing rounds: We can’t do last minute firings. We will only fire if the kiln is full, as it is not cost effective for us to fire if the kiln is not sufficiently filled up.

  • Before the end of your membership all belongings must cleared out at least 1 day before the last day of the membership. If belongings are left there over maximum 1 week, we will clear the shelves to make room for other members.

  • This studio is not for production potters, it is a learning space for potters who want to improve their craft. You will only be able to store your pieces in the space provided for you. For production potters we have a private studio rental available for monthly rent. Please contact us to check the availability!

  • Please keep in mind that this is a new system and we are still in the trial and error phase, so changes in policies may be made in the future.
